Many children, looking at TV screens, dream of becoming the same as their idols. But they have no idea how difficult it is to be constantly under the public eye. Rupert Turner endures bullying at his new school, and his mother just doesn't have a very warm relationship - not the best environment for a teenager. The only person he considers close is the nationally popular actor John F. Donovan. The boy decided to start sending letters to the celebrity to communicate. Usually popular people ignore this, but this was not the case. Between Rupert and John, a real friendship was established through correspondence.
