Many collaborators of British intelligence guessed that a "mole" working for Russia had settled in its leadership a long time ago. But those who dared to declare it openly, for some reason ended up in retirement. The latter preferred to remain silent. But confirmation of the existence of a Russian agent came from a completely unexpected source. An undercover investigation begins, led by retired George Smiley. And no one, including the top leadership of intelligence, should guess that the hunt for the mole has been announced again.
